Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day!
Well, as a Mother anyway. Really, everyday I get to spend with my son is like Mother's Day. Matt fixed me my favorte Matt breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast. (I cannot get eggs to turn out for the life of me, so I grateful for a husband who makes them so well!)
We went up to Southlands Mall a couple of days before to take pictures to send to the grandparents. Here are a couple of my favorites of my sweet boy!

I can feed myself

Steven loves to feed himself! It is a very messy process, but he is always so proud of himself. And ya know what? I am proud of him too! He does really well with picking the food up and then curls his little hand around it. When he brings it up to him mouth he puts his chubby little fist up to his mouth and then open his fingers. It is seriously the cutest thing ever. We are working very hard with him not throwing things over the edge to Wally dog. Any suggestions? He really does not like to have his arms and face washed off at the end either, but it has to be done!

Some of his favorites right now include spaghetti and cupcakes. (I know, I should wait until his first birthday, but the child loves them!)

Playing outside with Daddy

The weather here has been unusually warm for this time of year. My lawn wishes there was more water, but I love being outside with my little family. Matt is such an excellant daddy and I am so grateful for him! I love spending time with my family. As I was taking photos of Matt and Steven, Steven just laid his head down on Matt's shoulder for a little break. What a sweetie pie! Seriously, I could not ask for a better son! I love my boys so very much! Happy April!

Grandpa Great Willey

My grandparents (Steven's great grandparents) came out to visit. Steven had such a great time playing with Grandpa Great. He thought his hat was super neat, and he loved the fact that he has whikers. Steven kept touching his face. I remember when Steven was younger and was fussy, Grandpa used to dance around with him and put him to sleep. What a kind and sweet boy!

The many faces of my 8 month old

Oh sweet baby boy! He makes my life so worthwhile! I am so happy to be his mommy! He makes so many faces that I just have to smile at! Here is a glimpse at just a few of the sweet faces my boy makes!

9 Months!

I cannot believe my little guy is 9 months old!
Here are his 9 month stats: 23lbs 3.5 oz 86%
30in, 93%
My tall, skinny boy!! The doctor said everything looks good. The nurse was a little slower about your shots, but you were a trooper and cried for only a minute.

Steven loves to roar like a lion when we say, "Ah! Scary lion!" He loves to hear his own voice, especially somewhere it echos like the bathroom or during sacrament meeting in the chapel. He also loves to drive his train and cars around. He is absolutely beautiful and amazing!!

8 Months

Where does the time go? It seems just moments ago I was holding my tiny brand new baby? I am sure one day Steven is going to say, "Ah mom, stop getting so sentimental all of the time!" And I am going to just cry because I will remember him being my "tiny baby." Oh, I LOVE this little boy to bits and pieces! Here is an 8 Month recap of some of his accomplishments and fun times:

-He is an expert crawler! He is so fast in fact. His favorite things to crawl towards are Wally's red bone and Mommy. I think it is so sweet that he will follow me around the family room as I do laundry or clean up. The kid LOVES Wally's red bone and already, there have been some small arguments between Steven and Wally over it. It is so fun to watch him crawl all over the place!

-Steven is such a good little eater. A lady in our ward handed him a cracker for the first time and he just kind of looked at her funny. But it didn't take him long to figure it out. Now, he are a cracker pro. If we could just figure out how to keep his hands clean while eating, life would be perfect. Steven has tried a lot of new foods from noodles to cottage cheese, the meat baby foods to oatmeal cereal. He will pretty much each just about anything, except peaches. I will sometimes try to sneak them into something, and he sees right through them. The kid will eat pears until his little stomach will burst, but he will not each peaches.

-My tiny baby is sin 18 month old clothing. I am so grateful for a happy, healthy boy but I sure do miss those tiny little clothes.

-As far as sleeping through the night, it is always touch and go. There are some nights when he sleeps like a champ and there are other nights when he is wakes several times. I believe he just wants to be cuddled up with his mom, but who knows. I really believe he is teething because he drools a lot more and he has been ultra fussy lately. The once happy to lucky baby is quite often fussy, which breaks me heart. He has been attached to me and I often call him my little orangutan because he will hang on me like the orangutans you see at the zoo. I am grateful he is such a mommy's boy though!

-Steven is such a boy. He brings his father and I so much joy and I stop several times a day just to offer a prayer of thanksgiving to our Father in Heaven for this sweet boy in our lives! I try not to take a single second for granted. I often use the phrase, "I just (insert activity like rocked, cuddled, fed, held, played with, etc.) and angel." He is truly one of Heavenly Father's choice spirits and I know this to be true!
