My 26th Birthday!

It's true...I am an old lady! :) Yesterday was my birthday and it was wonderful! Matt was not feeling very well so he actually stayed home with me, so that was a treat all in itself, even if he wasn't feeling 100%. He gave me a beautiful card that expressed his love for me, which in all honesty, is my favorite! He also gave the "The Notebook" and a gift card to Target for me to get some new clothes for our cruise later in the year. He saw how happy I was that I could actually buy clothes from a regular store, so he wanted to help me out in that department. Matt has been wanting new phones for quite sometime, so we went out and did that too. I am soo excited for my pink bubble gum phone! It definaly will take some getting used to though!
Then he took me out to lunch and we just snuggled at home on the couch.
I did have to go into work yesterday, but it was okay! As I got to my desk, I saw there was a PINK birthday cake and a card. The staff who were around sang happy birthday! After getting to class, all of the night students came into the classroom (about 100 students) came in and sang to me! I was blushing and smiling from ear to ear! I was so elated!! The class of students I was teaching brought me cake and my rookie class made cookies! I felt so special!! As I got home last night Matt (and Doogie) had bought flowers for me. Matt's flowers were red roses and Doogie's were some little pink ones. (I had mentioned to Matt I wanted flowers to hang outside on our little porch). He is such a thoughtful man and I love him so very much!! Thanks to everyone for all of the birthday wishes and for making it such a special day for me!
As I was trying to take some pictures of my flowers today, Doogie took some time to "Stop and smell the flowers." I love this little guy!!
I was trying to be a good little photographer. This is one of the red roses my Sweetheart gave me!

Same 'ol, but that's okay!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks, but at the same time, really nothing to report. We haven't heard anything on the baby and I have really come to the conclusion that we need to go down another route. I started on a weight loss path mid February and have been doing fairly good. I hit my 50 pound loss mark this week and I always promised myself when I got to that point I would make an appointment with a fertility specialist and get things checked out again. So, that is goal number one for next week! I am pretty excited. I want to lose another 50 pounds before our cruise in September, but I'm not sure I am going to make it. I just keep trying hard and praying for help and guidance!
My family was visiting about three ago and we stopped by Barnes and Noble. I was able to purchase Stephanie Myer's new book "The Host" and I can't put it down. I am nearly done! Really good reading, but I think I am still in love with Edward! I also pre-purchased "Breaking Dawn," book 4 in the Twilight series. I am going to the Breaking Dawn release party on August 2 at 12:01 am! I am sooo excited!!
Two weekends ago I bought a kit to give Doogie a haircut. He is very skiddish when I take him to get him groomed, so I thought I would be saving him some heartache if I just did it myself. Well, I really didn't know much about what I was doing and I didn't understand the blade length. Before I knew it, our little pup was nearly bald. Everyone says he looks really good, and I have to keep telling him how handsome he is so he doesn't get nervous, but he is really short. I guess he just has a summer haircut.
I guess that is really everything in our lives. We are trying to make plans to go camping and spend some quality time together. Sending our love out to everyone!

My Cute Hubby Tag

1. What is your husbands first name? Matthew
2. Who eats more? Probably Matt. He is a growing boy! :)
3. Who said I love you first? I am embarrassed to say it was me. I never wanted to be the first to say it, but we had been dating for about 4 weeks and we were at his parents house watching a movie. He had driven from Utah to Colorado to visit me while we were apart. I turned to him and said, "I never wanted to be the first to say this, but I can't take it anymore. Please don't say it back right now but, I LOVE YOU!! I was so embarrassed. He just looked at me and replied that he had been wanting to tell me for a good long while, but was too scared I would reject him.
4. Who is taller? Matt is taller. He is the first guy I ever dated taller than me. I knew it was meant to be!
5. Who is smarter? Matt is smarter in every way, shape and form. He is a boy genius!
6. Who is more sensitive? Probably me, but we both have our moments! Matt gets very teary eyed about Gospel related subjects and that makes me so happy!
7. Who does the laundry? Me.
8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are facing the bed as you walk in the door, I guess I do.
9. Who pays the bills? I do. I am a control freak.
10. Who cooks more? With our crazy schedules, we don't do a lot of cooking and eating together. I would say for now, we are about 50/50.
11. What meals do you cook together? Occasionally we will do a breakfast together. Matt is the omelet king! Anytime we do cook, however, Matt is in charge of the meat. For some reason the feel of raw meat makes me nauseous!
12. Who is more stubborn? Hands down, ME!
13. Who is first to admit they were wrong? See question above. :) Matt is usually the first to admit he is wrong.
14. Who is cleaner? I am a total neat freak and I can't stand dirt and grime!
15. Who has more siblings? Matt. He has three sisters and three brothers. He is the OLDEST of 7! I have one little brother. (Again, complicated subject....I was "adopted" (okay, not really adopted, but close enough) by the Hills, so I guess I have one more brother and three sisters!)
16. Who wears the pants in the relationship? I let Matt think he is in charge, but really, it's me
17. What do you like to do together? Camping, most defiantly. We love to watch movies, laugh, picnic, read, cuddle, play with our pup; anything as long as we are together.
18. Who eats more sweets? Previously, I would have to say me, but I have cut back dramatically!
19. Guilty Pleasures: For Matt, it is probably video games or total guy movies.
20. How did you meet? I moved to Utah to go to massage school. Matt was there going to LDS Business College. When I went to church for the first time, I asked my roommate who that guy was. She said it was Matt Anderson. I remember turning to her and saying, "I am going to marry him." (Talk about intuition!!) I was in love with him from that moment, but we did not do a lot of hanging out until he was called to be my Home Teacher! I have a testimony of home teaching for sure!!
22. Who kissed who first? I think it was pretty much mutual, but Matt kissed me first. We had been dating about a week and I was leaving his house to head home. He walked me to my car and gave me a quick peck on the cheek. Then he pretty much ran away. What a cutie!
23. Who proposed? Matt did. We only dated about 3 weeks before I had to move to Colorado for a job. He made a few trips over from Utah to Colorado to visit me. On one of these trips he asked me out to a fancy dinner at Maggiano's. He was sooo scared all night long, so I had a feeling something was up. He was very sweet and when he asked me to marry him, I immediately said yes and then we both just sat there staring at the ring!
24. Best Features? I really love everything about my Matt. I love that he is so big and tall. He can just hold me and make me feel like a petite woman. His eyes are stunning and bright, and he has the LONGEST eyelashes (I hope our kids get his lashes!!) He has this little cheesy kid smile sometimes and it just totally melts my heart!
25. What is his Best Quality? Matt is absolutely sweet. He is very sensitive to my needs. He loves me for me. Matt is so very close to our Heavenly Father and is a worthy Priesthood holder. He loves to laugh and try to make me happy always. He is so very kind and compassionate, always thinking of others before himself.
I Tag- Everyone!
This is Matt's cheesy little kid smile. He does it when he is in trouble or is trying to hide something from me. What a hottie!

Matt and his brothers (and friend Parker on the L end) singing Karoke. Never a dull moment when all the Anderson's get together!

A Call to Repentance

It all started early yesterday morning: Matt and I took his brother, Travis, to church. On our way we were having a nice discussion about repentance and the importance of it pertaining to the Atonement. I laugh to myself when I think of these discussions, not out of ignorance, but I can see down the road to having a big family with Matt. I know when our children get in trouble their punishment will be singing a hymn like Love at Home or listening to a church lecture or looking up love in the index. It just cracks me up! But I digress.....
And then in the middle of the night, I was awakened by my sick little puppy. Doogie is just like a little kid to us, and we treat him as so. I cleaned it up, cuddled with the boy and attempted to go back to sleep. Repeat step 1 a couple of times. My two boys (Matt and Doogie) were asleep and I just laid there, wishing sleep would come. I had high hopes the glow of the computer screen would lull me back into a dream like state, but no such luck yet. However, I have been looking at countless blogs, seeing if I can find anyone from the past, and what I came across tonight were several links to sights of families to have lost a child.
I have been called to repentance! I have been questioning "Why me?" for far too long! I have so much to be grateful for and still, I complain and whine! I am grateful for my family, no matter how small or large it may be! My husband is a worthy priesthood holder who loves me unconditionally and works to hard to provide for our family. If you hear me being ungrateful again, you have my permission to slap me or something! I love ya!
